Psychological assessment – from preschool to adulthood

Psychological assessment evaluate an individual’s learning, thinking, and behaviour to determine strengths and area(s) in need of support).  Sometimes, but certainly not every time, a clinical diagnosis can be provided that describes an individual’s strengths and challenges so that targeted interventions can be accessed to promote development and positive outcome.

At Inspire Child Psychology, we specialize and are highly trained in psychological assessment of children, adolescents, and young adults.  Our clinical specialty is assessment of cognitive, learning, behavioural, and/or social-emotional issues in children, adolescents, and young adults.  We are experts on diagnosis of intellectual disability, giftedness, learning disabilities, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, ASD, anxiety, and depression, among others.

Our fee for assessment is $200 per hour, in alignment with the schedule established by the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta.  We work with families to determine the optimal assessment approach to answer referral questions, and strive to never over-test children.  Families who have third-party insurance coverage can submit the assessment expense to their provider for potential reimbursement.
